Jim's enlistment form

First page of Jim Martin's enlistment form dated 12 April 1915. Note that Jim says he is 18 years old – in fact he was born at Tocumwal NSW on 3 January 1901. He's only 14. Also he calls himself a "farm labourer." This is the reason I think he was working on the farms around Maldon where his Aunt Mary ran the hotel. "If you're going to tell a lie, make it a big one, not lots of little ones. You can't remember them all."
