Anzac Cove

The Beach Cemetery at Anzac Cove, looking up the cliffs towards the sentinel outcrop diggers called The Sphinx, after the monument in Egypt. Ambulanceman John Simpson Kirkpatrick, famously remembered for carrying the wounded on his donkey, is buried here. Jim Martin was buried at sea from the hospital ship "Glenart Castle" anchored off the Cove.
